Jack and Jill went up the Hill
Thunder rumbled in the distance. Jack shivered, but he wasn’t cold. The blood stained curtain billowed, though the air was still.
Jack heard the door creak open behind him. Footsteps echoed in the silence. He looked down and checked the silencer on his pistol. Could someone have heard the shot, he wondered fearfully. Jack didn’t want the witness to see his face. So, he stopped himself from turning around.
The cabin was in the middle of the woods. It was a dark and stormy evening. And, no one knew he was here. No one even knew he was in town! He covered his face with one hand, and balanced the pistol in the other. Timing was everything. He whipped around and fired three shots. He turned a little with each shot, to improve his chances of hitting whoever was behind him.
To his horror, he realized the door was still shut and no one was behind him. There were 3 bullet holes in the door. His heart thudding loudly in his ears, he turned back around and looked down at Jill’s corpse. He pulled back the curtain, and jumped out of the window. He ran towards the highway where his car was parked.
When he was a few yards away, he turned around, and saw Jill’s face glaring at him through that same window. He turned back around and started run down the hill, when he heard Jill’s melodious voice behind him, “not so fast,” she whispered. Jack fell but scrambled back up. He resumed running. Faster, faster. Pushing himself. Over rocks, stones, puddles, obstacles. Just forcing himself to keep going.
He fell again. He rolled down the hillock. He heard something tumbling behind him. As he felt, the raindrops on his face, or were they tears? The storm had caught up with him and so had Jill or so he thought, with the last bit of strength he got up and rushed towards his car. The same car in which he had bought Jill here.he geared up his car and rushed home. he even missed a traffic signal!
As soon as he got home he opened up the trunk he found all those stained papers in which Jill had planned for his murder. “How could she?” jack wondered. “I gave her everything she possibly could ever ask for. I thought we were happy and satisfied, business was going well, everything was fine till-till Richard came in our life.” said Jack cursing his childhood best- friend or apparently his childhood best-friend. “I trusted Jill, how could she possibly cheat on me for money, for Richard?” wondered Jack.
“well now it’s over” he said? He heard the thunder rumbling outside the window. It was 11:36. Jack got into his bed. as he fell asleep he suddenly felt someone touch his hand, a cold drought took over him. He got up and and to his surprise the room door was wide open and the wind was gushing in through the window. Jack was quite sure that he had locked the window and the door of his room. In bewilderment he looked around his room.
Suddenly something caught his eye. There was a writing on the mirror written with deep red lipstick the same shade he had gifted Jill. It read “it’s not over”. A loud shriek was heard all the residents rushed up to Jacks room. alas nobody could open the door. The next day when the police broke open the door Jacks body was found in his room in a pool of blood with three bullets shot right near his heart. The doctor confirmed the murder was done nearly at midnight.
